One supplier, both origins
Buying bulk matcha in the UK used to mean a choice: a Japanese supplier at premium prices, or a Chinese source and a gamble on quality. We stock both — so you get the right matcha for your application, not whatever one supplier happens to have.
We ship from our Birmingham warehouse, with most stocked lines out in 3–5 working days. For larger procurement we work directly with farms in Uji, Nishio, Kagoshima, Zhejiang and Fujian to ship direct or via UK holding stock.
Who we supply
Whether you are trialling 5kg in a single cafe or negotiating a multi-tonne annual contract, the process is the same: tell us what you need, and we match you to the right grade, origin and supply route.
Procurement teams ordering 50–100kg a quarter for lattes and matcha menus.
Consistent ingredient-grade powder for bars, ice cream and ready-to-drink.
Building out a wholesale catalogue with reliable matcha lines.
Your own packaging on proven matcha grades, ready for retail.
Capsules, powders and functional blends formulated at scale.
Culinary grade that holds colour and flavour through the bake.

The honest comparison
This is where we differ from most UK matcha suppliers. We source from both Japan and China, and we are straight about the trade-offs. Buyers who need matcha as a visible, tasted ingredient — drinks, lattes, dessert toppings — gravitate to Japanese grades. Buyers who need it as a functional ingredient in a formulation find Chinese organic grades deliver the quality they need at a price that protects their margins.
We carry both, recommend the right one for your use case, and send samples of each so you can test before committing.
Match the grade to the job
Not all matcha is created equal, and the grade you need depends entirely on how you plan to use it. Here is what we stock for bulk supply.
| Grade | Origin | Best for | Volume range | Cost tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ceremonial | Japanese (Uji, Nishio, Kagoshima) | Drinking, lattes, premium retail | 5kg – 500kg | Premium |
| Culinary | Japanese | Bakery, confectionery, food service | 5kg – 1t+ | Mid-range |
| Organic culinary | Chinese (Zhejiang, Fujian) | Manufacturing, supplements, private label | 25kg – 1t+ | Value |
| Ingredient grade | Chinese | High-volume manufacturing, RTD, blending | 50kg – 1t+ | Economy |
Quote-based pricing
Bulk matcha pricing depends on grade, origin, volume, packaging and certification. Here is how the tiers generally work.
5–25kg
Trial & small cafés
Cafes, small bakeries and businesses trialling matcha. Smaller pack runs, still well below retail per-kilo.
25–100kg
Established foodservice
Where most food service businesses sit. Quarterly orders attract better pricing; we hold stock against a standing order.
100–500kg
Scale & schedule
Meaningful price breaks, scheduled deliveries, dedicated batch documentation and priority allocation on new harvests.
500kg–1t+
Direct from origin
Container shipments from Japan or China straight to your facility — cutting handling and per-kilo cost significantly.

Paperwork that passes compliance
When you are putting matcha into a commercial product, you need paperwork — we get that. Every bulk order can ship with a Certificate of Analysis covering colour, particle size, moisture, heavy metals and microbiology, plus the organic certificates relevant to your origin and destination market.
We also provide allergen statements, nutritional data and full batch traceability to the farm. Japanese ceremonial grades test consistently below EU residue limits; Chinese organic grades carry third-party certification with annual pesticide testing built in.
Keep it vibrant
Matcha is sensitive to heat, light, moisture and odours. Proper storage is the difference between a vibrant green powder and a dull, oxidised one.
Dry, temperature-controlled, away from direct light.
Matcha absorbs smells — keep away from coffee, spices, cleaning products.
Shelf life from production. Once opened, airtight and use within 3–6 months.
First-in, first-out. We include storage guidelines with every shipment.
Built around real procurement
Straightforward, and designed around how procurement actually works — not how most supplier websites pretend it does.
Share your grade preference, estimated volume, intended use and any certification needs. The more detail, the faster we respond.
Based on application, volume and budget we suggest the best match — sometimes one grade, sometimes two to test side by side.
We send samples of the recommended grades so you can test colour, taste and performance in your actual product. No commitment.
Take the time you need — quality checks, recipe testing, internal sign-off. We are not in a rush.
UK warehouse stock typically dispatches in 3–5 working days. Larger or custom orders may need 2–4 weeks.
A schedule that fits your production cycle, plus a named account manager who flags new harvests and price changes before they hit you.
Our bulk matcha supply starts from 5kg for most grades. For ingredient-grade or white-label packaging runs, we typically work from 50kg upwards. There's no fixed minimum — tell us what you need and we'll confirm the best route.
Yes. We provide samples for all grades and origins so you can test colour, taste, and performance in your specific application before committing to volume.
Japanese matcha (primarily from Uji, Nishio, and Kagoshima) is stone-ground from shade-grown tencha leaves and tends to be smoother with higher umami. Chinese matcha is typically produced in Zhejiang or Fujian provinces at larger scale, making it more cost-effective for culinary, bakery, and supplement applications. Both can be organic certified.
Depending on the grade and origin, we can supply Certificates of Analysis (COA), organic certificates (JAS, USDA, EU/CERES), allergen statements, and batch traceability. Let us know your requirements when requesting a quote.
Keep sealed bags below 25°C, away from direct light and strong odours. Unopened bags last 12-24 months. Once opened, transfer to airtight containers and use within 3-6 months. We include storage guidelines with every order.
Yes. We ship worldwide from our UK warehouse. For large international orders, we can arrange direct container shipment from origin to reduce cost and lead time.
